What’s in your garden?

June 21, 2010

The Agricultural Biodiversity Weblog highlights an interesting new Garden Organic project to study the growing of non-traditional crops in gardens and allotments throughout the UK funded by the Lottery Fund. Given there has been an apparent rise in the number of Irish allotments, could be something which a local student might undertake, take stock of the types of traditional and non-traditional crops being grown in allotments, homegardens and other initiatives promoting local food production and supply such as transition towns. Maybe this is something which the Irish Seed Savers are already doing and linked into. Would be interesting to know.
